This morning Minister of Transportation, Steven Del Duca, made an announcement about Workplace Electric Vehicle Charging Incentive Program.

As part of the Climate Change Action Plan (CCAP), the government is expanding the electric vehicle charging network in Ontario in an effort to accelerate the electrification of the transportation sector. The Workplace Electric Vehicle Charging Incentive Program (WEVCIP) will provide funding to employers and commercial building managers or owners to install electric vehicle chargers for their employees and tenants at workplaces across Ontario.

Employers and commercial building owners or managers are eligible for 80 per cent of the initial costs of installation of an electric vehicle charging space, up to $7,500 per charging space. Funding is limited, and is available on a first come, first served basis.
